Pack Expo 2010 News by ASH Automated Packaging Systems - Multifeeder has given us the inside scoop on their booth at the Pack Expo 2010. The will be displaying 4 systems this year.

System 1: Turnkey tipping system.

The system will start by an MFT 350XED Industrial Performance Friction Feeder placing a base product onto their VTC 3000-550 Vacuum Track Conveyor. Once the base product is on the VTC it will be held in position through the remainder of the conveyor with a continuous vacuum supply through the belts of the conveyor. The base product will then get glue applied from a hot melt system. After glue is applied the glued base product will continue to travel down the base conveyor and pass beneath an MFT IP 250ED Industrial Performance Tipping unit which will accurately place an onset patented Continuous Accutipping Controller with encoder feedback. The product will be placed very accurately at high speed an during ramp up/down or any line speed variations. The product will then enter a plow fold section where the product will be folded in half encasing the tipped product. After the product has been folded a label will be applied by an MFT 100HS High Speed Label Applicator. A barcode reader will be mounted over the base to detect a printed barcode and verify it matches a preset code. If the barcode does not match, is missing or is a bad read the product will be automatically rejected.

System 2: Automated labeling system with automated product transfer.

This system will begin with an MFT V 250ED Signature Series Friction Feeder replicating and existing system in a factory that would automatically transfer product from existing equipment into the Multifeeder equipment. Once the product is on the Multifeeder equipment it will be buffered into a rear APL hopper with controller. The APL 1000-550 will automatically fill the in feed hopper of the MFT IP 550SLD Industrial Performance Friction Feeder. As the rear APL hopper empties or fills up a controller will pause and start the labeling line. The MFT IP 550SLD will separate and feed the product from the stack into the in feed hopper and present to an MFT PA 15 Print and Apply Label Applicator. The MFT PA 150 will print a label onto black label stock and apply to the moving base product as it travels through the discharge of the Multifeeder. As the product exits the discharge of the MFT IP 550SLD they will be accumulated in a catch tray.

System 3:

Multifeeder will have their new Signature Series Multifeeder which is a cost effective feeder for those with slower less demanding applications. This will be a standalone unit feeding into a catch tray.

System 4:

An Industrial Performance Multifeeder with Flexible Discharge to feed products from a horizontal position to a vertical position. This feeder will also be a stand alone unit.

The MCE-2210 Series is unrivaled in terms of quality, performance, reliability and usability. The Master MCE-2210 Series is a case erector and bottom flap hot melt glue/tape sealer for assembling corrugated cases.
